Our Mission
To promote a cooperative business effort that strengthens a vibrant, local economy and serves as the voice of business in community affairs.  A healthy community is a requirement for a healthy business climate and the Chamber seeks to have an active presence in the entire Hesston Community.

The Hesston Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Office is a volunteer organization comprised of the business community, uniting the efforts of business, industry, and individuals to ensure a healthy economic base while doing our part to help improve the quality of life in our community. Through the power of many, we are "One Voice", harnessing the strength of the private enterprise system and enabling our members to work together to make our community a better place for everyone to live, work, and play.

Your Chamber is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the general membership. The policies and programs are determined by the board and implemented by an employed Executive Director.

The variety and scope of the Chamber activities are virtually unlimited, depending on the needs of the community and the desire and ability of the Chamber to execute. The Chamber represents and promotes the area's economy and encourages business investments and development, broadening the tax base and strengthening the business base. To both business prospects and visitors, the Chamber is often the community's front door.  Chambers of Commerce are still relevant despite advancements in technology and online networking. Members receive numerous promotional perks, exclusive advertising and networking options, and additional exposure for their companies or organizations, all for a small membership fee.

Membership fees often deter business owners from joining before they’ve even seen the full benefits because those costs are viewed as out-of-pocket expenses. Considering membership fees as a tax-deductible investment will broaden your business footprint by placing you amongst fellow entrepreneurs who are paving the path.

Here's a short explanation of the membership benefits:

Free advertising! I'm sure you've heard the adage "There's nothing like word-of-mouth advertising". What better way is there to get your business name out there than through the chamber membership organization, member to member, and beyond!

Did you know chamber welcomes new residents to the community? Were you aware that members receive an online listing (with a link) to help interested parties find your business in searches? Both of those opportunities alone could give your company a significant reach in advertising. Additionally, membership businesses are encouraged to provide discounted coupons into the relocation packet to bring potential new customers into your place of business.

EffortTimeWe're working hard to establish new events and build toward hosting conferences that would frequently take place in the community; in fact, you’ve probably recognized through the Hesston Record that we've had some success at that already.  As a Chamber member, you'll typically gain access to those conferences, meetings, and local training opportunities before non-members, generally at a worthwhile discount.

The chamber puts you in direct contact with other professionals in the local area and region for networking purposes. Take the pain out of cold calling or blindly attending events hoping to make new connections, we'll put you in the same room, elbow to elbow with area business owners during meetings, conferences and get-togethers.

We also provide access to mailing lists that you wouldn’t be able to access otherwise. Those mailing lists are especially helpful if your business is primarily business to business because you’ll be able to directly contact or visit the person in charge instead of blindly hoping to reach someone with buying power. Also keep in mind that chambers refer their members’ products and services over non-members’, which means you’ll also gain referral opportunities as a paying member.

Our primary source of revenue is membership dues, subsidized by fund-raising events, and grants. Members, individuals, and firms representing all types of business, industry, and professions share in the financial support of the Chamber. All share a mutual desire to achieve a better community for all of its citizens, thus making the Chamber of Commerce a tangible investment. The Chamber of Commerce serves as the front line advocacy organization for local businesses.

The Chamber of Commerce is the business community sales force. We promote the products and services of our members through brochure display and dispersal, referrals, representing the city at local, regional, and state level workshops and events, and networking opportunities. The "One Voice" of the Chamber has often proven effective and beneficial to business where a single voice can go unheard. The rewards of belonging to the Chamber are full-time representation and year-round results. When you join the Chamber, you're availing your business to extra staff and accessing the chamber portal to the community, region, and state.

Becoming a member of the chamber is easy. Making an impact on your community through the chamber is rewarding. Beyond becoming part of "One Voice", you'll be given the opportunity to serve on committees, participate in events, and hone your leadership skills. Every Chamber member becomes involved in an organized effort that is mutually beneficial to their community, their neighbors and to themselves.
